+ Since we had some vermicelli noodles leftover from Max’s party, I made bun thit nuong (vermicelli noodle salad) for dinner tonight. I wish I could have grilled the pork and shrimp, but since we don’t have a grill, I pan fried them instead. Speaking of grills, Mike really wants a new grill this summer. I’d love one of those nice stainless steel ones, but I don’t want to shell out the dough for something we’ll only use a couple times a year.
+ It was so nice on Sunday, and then it snowed A LOT yesterday. So. Sick. Of. Snow. But today was just gorgeous. A lot of the snow melted. Max & I went to Ikea for lunch, and browsed a bit. Left with nothing, and dropped him back off at home with his Daddy so he could nap while I went grocery shopping. He never napped, so he went to bed early tonight. I love it when he falls asleep in my arms because it rarely happens anymore since he getting older. I could tell he was tired, so I opened my arms, and he climbed in. I started singing a lullaby softly, and he sang along here & there, then he drifted to sleep. I love these moments.
+ Haven’t been watching a lot of tv due to my class, but when I can, I’ve been watching Top Chef, Lost, and just finished up America’s Best Dance Crew on MTV. I still can’t believe Status Quo made it to the finals. Kabba Modern should’ve been there with JW. Jabba Wockeez totally rocked it, and obviously deserved the win.
+ I will be working on my next paper, so I won’t be posting very much in the next couple of weeks. If I can, I’ll try & sneak in some updates. Now that Max’s birthday party is over, we don’t have any events lined up for the next month or two.
+ Btw, thanks for the nice compliments on my little fondant figures. I made Ho Ho (the monkey) & his turntable after I injured my hand, so take that Martha! Just kidding. Martha’s my idol. Actually, Mike did help me roll Ho Ho’s head and body. Keke.
OMG!! Looks so yummy! I want some right now. Do you mind giving me the recipe? I would love to try and make some this week.
Thanks!
oh man, that looks delish. you made my tummy growl. i’d love to learn how you made it, too…i’m always looking for new dinner ideas!
The thing about one of those grills is that once you get it you use it all the time, especially when it’s warm in the house and you don’t want to heat it up anymore.
I haven’t read your paper (just being lazy) yet but will get to it today.
Now what am I going to watch on Thursdays? Jabba killed it for sure! That’s how I feel about Status Quo - I think 99.98% of America feels the same too! Hey, what’s that vermicelli sauce made of????
max’s cake was so cute…. minna, your creativity never fails! by the way, I hope your hand is healing along nicely!
It was nice chatting with you yesterday. I needed that reassurance that whatever the outcome is, it’ll be great. So tired of all the negativity. Hope your hand is healing alright. Good luck on your paper! Love ya!
That looks sooo good; too bad I don’t like shrimp!
We applied Adam to a preschool called Grace Neighborhood Nursery School. Although they also focus on teaching children in an academic structure, their concentration mainly is to nurture appropriate social skills. *sighs* It’s only April 4th, but I’m completely anxious about it. I wish, if he didn’t get accepted, that they would just call me right away. :( Keep your fingers crossed for me (even though your hand is injured). :P
G’luck on the paper; I know you’ll do a fab job anywayz - not like you need the luck.
No, it wasn’t that expensive at all. Two drinks, appettizer, and 2 entrees was about 40$. Their portions are a little smaller compared to Village Wok or Shuang Cheng but we still ended up taking some home.
Another table had a pork short ribs, which comes with flames. Perhaps something Max would enjoy seeing. Also, some other reviews really like the noodles, I believe: Peninsula Char Kway Toew? Let me know how it goes :)
