+ Above are some of my favorite ornaments from our tree. I’ve got about 90 ornaments on our tree, but I think I’m going to buy more. Just waiting for another sale. If you live by a Macy’s, you have to check out their decorated trees. Stunning. I wish I had taken advantage of their 50% off sale on their ornaments during Black Friday.
+ The hubby wanted to buy more tracks for Max’s train set today, so we spent the afternoon in Saint Paul. First, we had lunch at Cafe Latte. With exception to their desserts, I personally think the rest of their food is overrated. We spent $25 for mediocre sandwiches & soups/salads & water; not really worth it. I think next time I go there, it will be only for the desserts. After lunch, we headed over to Pottery Barn to get fabric swatches. I am thinking about buying this sofa instead of the one I previously mentioned. Which one do you guys like better? Afterwards, we went to Choo Choo Bob’s. Max had a ball playing with all their train sets. If you have a kid that loves trains, this place is a must. Not only is it a charming store, but they seem to be one of only places that still sell Brio products.
+ Football season will be over soon. Can’t wait!
+ Since SJP was on Project Runway, I had to check out her clothes online. Pretty cute. I love the concept. Does anyone have any of her clothes? If so, what’s your opinion? I have to stop by a S&B to see them in person. I didn’t know S&B was selling other things besides college sportswear. I just get that impression from when I used to live Madison.
+ Ok, seriously, I will not be posting much after this post. I’m just stalling on my final project. We have to pick 8 pieces of artwork, and half of them need to have some sort of personal meaning to us. We have to compare the personal art to another art piece that’s found in a museum or gallery in a 2000 word essay. We also have to present one of the selections in front of class & talk about all the visual elements portrayed, yada yada yada… Not really looking forward to that.
Both sofas look similar but perhaps it’s the lighting that makes me like the one on your previous post. Speaking of trains, I MUST start weaning Boomer from his trains. I’m stepping on them all the time! And he has a hard time sharing with his little brothers.
Hope you’re doing well - hhaha, funny about you procrastinating because all of us do it when we go back to school.
I like the first one better although they really look very much alike. I like the higher arms. Much better for napping on the sofa. Good luck with your paper. Sounds like a lot of work.
Pretty ornaments. We still have to put up our tree. I always want to buy new ornaments for it but we end up using our old ones, which are personalized picture frame ornaments from when we were little to now. hehe So I guess it’s cute too. I’m wearing an SJP sweater right now. It’s nice. Her line of clothes is pretty trendy but I don’t know if I would buy anything else from it…”you get what you pay for”…hehe =)
as for the sofa choice, in regards to small children, i think this new choice is better..
tree ornaments are pretty.. green hues are so in this past year.. nice theme…
i know what you mean by ’stalling’ in projects.. i find myself doing the same lately…
1/2 off on ornaments???? OMG! Ugh, I’m so mad that I didn’t go to Macy’s just for that. I usually go crazy buying ornaments after Christmas so that I can put them up next year. My tree theme, as I decided a couple years ago, was to be playful and fun, so a lot of my ornaments are very kid-like and toyish. Would you agree that the Macy’s trees are no where as creative as when it was Marshall Fields? I was sooooo bummed out when I found out that MF was going to be bought out by Macy’s for the ornament reason! We’re going to go out this weekend to pick our tree and then the ornaments are going up. I should post a photo when I have it up. This year, I’ve purchased 1 ornament so far. It is a Santa Clause that is about 7.5″ tall.
Sofa? I like the color on the new one waaay more, however, I like the design on the 1st one more. Will you be adding toss pillows to your sofa or no? Since the last time you visited, I purchased a whole new set of furniture and took out the toss pillows. I think they were over abused by the # of visitors that are constantly over.
SB - I’d heard that SJP was going to have her new line there also. I think college things when I think of SB too. Haven’t visited a SB in a looong time. Last time I bought something, the quality wasn’t so great.
I just watched that episode of PR with SJP last night! Surprising to hear that her line of clothing is at Steve & Barry’s…. last time I was there, it was mostly athletic sportswear and cheaply made clothing (probably sweatshop made). I should go check it out at Westowne.
I agree with Samy, I was really surprised to hear that SJP was going sell her line at S&B. Is S&B going to sell more variety?
I bought the third ornament.. the gold wreath. I bought the silver one too. I should take pictures of the ornaments I bought. Damn… 90 ornaments… I think we have about 50 plus the garlands.
You complain about the prices at Cafe Latte all the time… but you always go back. What is the deal?
Linda, Kathy, Kaoyee & Caroline: Thanks for the help.
Sara: You know, I don’t remember MF’s trees. Since I lived out of state for 7 years, I didn’t live near a MF (except for Madison, but their MF was pretty sorry.) But I believe you if you say they were much better than Macy’s. Yes, post up a photo of your tree. I’d love to see it.
Yeah, I’m planning to buy new toss pillows for the sofa. More decorative ones though. Our current pillows are pretty lumpy & worned down.
Samy: I know, talk about cheap. I will always remember those signs on State Street, “BUY 2, GET 3 FREE!” Hehe…
May: I heard that S&B was also selling Amanda Bynes clothing line too. And another celebrity I forgot who. Guess they’re sick of selling cheap college shirts.
I know I know, I complained about Cafe Latte before, but I wanted to give them one more chance. Do you think they’re worth it?
I love love the ornaments! I haven’t been watching Project Runway but I happened to catch last night’s episode. I’m curious to check out SJP’s line as well.
Hey Minna, I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! I’m loving the ornaments and the tree. I have an obsession with beautifully decorated trees =)
